Assistant Groomer | Groomy Pet

We are looking for an experienced assistant groomer with enthusiasm for small animals to join our practice. The successful candidate will perform all grooming-related duties necessary to ensure that pets are neat, clean, and look their best. The pet groomer’s responsibilities include bathing animals of various sizes and temperaments, trimming, clipping, or shaving hair/fur, and removing matted hair. The groomer should also be able to ensure that grooming tools and equipment are in good working condition. Besides, he will be helping the veterinarian, if needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dematting and detangling hair as required.

• Bathing, conditioning, and drying pets.

• Assist head groomer in trimming pets’ nails, brushing their teeth, and cleaning their ears.

• Assist head groomer in grooming and styling pets according to pet owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles.

• Identifying health issues in pets, such as ear infections, skin conditions, or tooth decay, and informing pet owners of these observations.

• Ensuring that all pets are safe during the grooming process.

• Routinely cleaning work areas.

• Maintain stock needed for daily activties in the grooming area.

• Working closely with all colleagues and nurture a culture of collaboration and teamwork.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• The role would be suitable for a groomer with at least 4 years of experience.

• Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities to achieve operational goals.

• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:

• Strong understanding of the veterinary management software Ezy-Vet.

• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.

• Experience in the UAE veterinary market, handling diverse clients, and collaborating with local veterinary organizations is preferred.
