Are you an experienced HSIE teacher ready to take the next step in educational leadership? Norwest Christian College is seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Assistant Head of HSIE to help lead high-quality teaching and learning across Years 7–12. Commencing Term 1, 2027, this full-time role offers the opportunity to support a dedicated faculty and help students grow in faith, character and purpose.

About the role

• Support the Head of HSIE with faculty leadership, strategic planning and day-to-day operations.
• Lead delegated HSIE courses across Years 7–12, including curriculum planning, assessment, moderation and reporting.
• Strengthen NESA-aligned programs, scopes and sequences, examinations and assessment practices.
• Use student data to monitor progress, improve teaching practice and support strong learning outcomes.
• Coach and support colleagues through collaborative planning, professional learning and evidence-informed practice.
• Model Christian leadership, maintain excellent classroom practice and contribute actively to College life.

About you

The successful applicant will demonstrate a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with that faith, including an active commitment to a Christian fellowship. They will also bring the following skills and experience:

• Demonstrated excellence in classroom teaching, communication and student management.
• Experience in educational leadership, faculty coordination or leading curriculum initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of NESA requirements and experience developing HSIE programs, assessments and examinations.
• Experience using student data to inform teaching, track progress and guide faculty decisions.
• The ability to lead collaborative planning, moderation and reporting while supporting colleagues to achieve high standards.
• Strong interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills, with a collaborative and relational leadership style.
• Experience teaching, programming and administration in Geography highly desirable.
• A pastoral mindset, an understanding of adolescent learning and wellbeing, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
• A genuine commitment to Christian education and active contribution to the wider life of the College.
