JOB SUMMARY

At American Rivers, we believe in the power of Marketing to engage, inform, and inspire.We'relooking for an energetic Marketing Manager who can take written or spoken ideas and convert them into visual content that inspires action for clean water and healthy rivers. 

A member of the Marketing and Communications team within the Advancement department, the person in this position will help elevate the organization’s mission and ensure consistent, high-quality brand presentation, interacting with staff across the organization to design materials, support with writing, and maintain a robust photo catalog. 

You will be successful in this role if you love design, collaborate well, have a passion for creating content, can manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines, and are excited to work in a fast-paced environment with people who are passionate about making a difference.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Graphic Design

  • Create visual assets for digital and print, such asfactsheets, brochures, invitations, infographics, advertisements, presentations, event materials, social graphics, e.g.
  • Provide quality assurance,maintainingconsistency with brand guidelines and visual identity.
  • Work with internal teams to understand project requirements and develop cohesive and creative assets


Media and Digital Asset Management

  • Update andmaintaininternal databases for designs, photography, and video
  • Edit andoptimizeimages for various uses (web, print, social).
  • Coordinate with staff to gather, tag, and catalog new visual content.
  • Edit short-form videos for social media.

Marketing Support and Coordination

  • Assistin cataloging impact stories and publishing content across internal channels.
  • Support planning andlogisticsfor marketing campaigns and events.
  • Draft and proofread content for social media, blogs, website updates, and fundraising materials.
  • Handle various administrative and coordination tasks to support the marketing team


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree and 1-3 years of experience in graphic design or marketing.
  • Demonstratedproficiencyin Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.
  • Photography experience andproficiencywith photo-editing software.
  • Video editing experience, preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and tone.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate across teams, whilemaintainingstrong attention to detail. 
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and good sense of humor. Ability to work well with colleagues in different offices and time zones. 
  • Desire to continue building skill set with education and training.
  • Commitment to and passion for the mission of American Rivers.

COMPENSATION 
American Rivers offers marketable compensation that reflects the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate. The salary range for this position is $55,000-61,800, annually, depending on experience and qualifications. We provide a comprehensive Total Rewards package to our full-time, regular employees, including:

  •  Health and Wellness: Medical, dental, vision, long-term and short-term disability, and life insurance.
  • Financial Security: After one year of service, American Rivers begins contributing a 3% employer contribution. There is no vesting schedule for employer contributions as employees are 100% vested upon participation.
  • Time Off: Four weeks of paid leave, eleven paid holidays, three floating holidays, and sick leave.
