About this role

BDO is seeking to recruit an experienced Audit Senior Associate to complement our existing audit team. You must be a qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent, ideally educated up to degree level with a background in financial services gained in practice. Your primary responsibility is to manage the on-site audit delivery, liaising between the audit engagement team and the client to ensure that assignments are delivered to a high quality and within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling all aspect of running and delivering client audit projects, reporting to manager/senior manager.
  • Controlling cost budgets, meeting reporting timetables and preparing key client reporting documents.
  • Ensuring professional standards are met.
  • Developing professional relationships with clients and within the firm.
  • Actively managing your self-development and continuing professional education with a view to progressing in practice.
  • Having a genuine interest in understanding your clients’ business with the drive to deliver exceptional client service.
  • Acting as a responsible representative of the firm in all client dealings.
  • Identifying and understanding client needs, communicating and agreeing these with your manager.
  • Providing an efficient and proactive service to clients and ensuring that the clients’ needs are fully met.
  • Providing potential client solutions on technical matters to manager.
  • Rigorous project and financial management on all projects.
  • Having day to day contact with all members of the audit team and wider firm so that strong working relationships are developed.
  • Acting as a responsible member of the team, providing support, development and guidance to more junior members.
  • Planning, executing and finalising all areas of audit projects for manager and Director review, seeking input for areas of concern and judgement.
  • Actively managing time pressures and bringing key matters to the attention of the manager.
  • Producing work for manager and director review which requires little further input, clearly highlights issues and provides potential solutions to issues identified.
  • Conducting supervision of staff both while on site at client premises and in the office.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to quality in all client engagements and other work, including ensuring compliance with the Company's policies and procedures around engagement performance, ethics and independence and take-on
  • Comply with all applicable financial crime policies & procedures as they apply to your role

Education
  • ACA/ACCA or equivalent qualification.
Expertise
  • At least 3 years’ experience in practice, preferably with financial services experience with a medium-top tier firm
  • Experience leading engagements
  • Experience of supervising and coaching members of staff on-site.
