Job Summary
Poquet Auto is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team in Golden Valley, Minnesota. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician capable of performing advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, and providing technical leadership within the shop. The technician plays a critical role in maintaining Poquet Auto’s reputation for quality, accuracy, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics on drivability, electrical, engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and brake systems
- Accurately diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues efficiently and correctly the first time
- Interpret scan tool data, wiring diagrams, and technical service information
- Complete high-level repairs including engine, transmission, and major system repairs
- Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure proper operation
- Communicate effectively with Service Advisors regarding diagnoses, repair recommendations, and timelines
- Maintain detailed, accurate repair documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and shop policies
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred
- ASE Master Technician certification preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Strong diagnostic skills with electrical and drivability systems
- Proficiency with modern diagnostic equipment and scan tools
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Own tools appropriate for an A Level Technician
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred
