Responsibilities (essential to the position)
1.Required to take an active role as part of the automotive mechanical team in designing the mechanical elements of the car HMI system(displays, cameras, sensors), including packaging in vehicle lines, enclosures and electro-optical mechanical elements.
2.Liaise with the outside contract manufacturers and integrators, supporting internal team mechanical,manufacturing, display engineering, product quality, safety to finalise mechanical layout of the display systems to suit specific vehicle lines.
3.Develop DFMEA, FMA and support other quality systems, liaising with the contract manufacturers and the internal automotive body engineering team.
4.Creation of component & assembly drawings.
5.Support the approval & release of component & assembly drawings.
6.Develop root cause & troubleshooting investigations.
7.Work with child part suppliers to identify & develop sub components.
8.Design & assembly of prototype parts & fixtures.
9.Develop test & evaluation regimes.
10.Attend and provide input into design reviews and prepare presentation materials as required.
Qualifications
Preferred
·Experience in being part of a team in an automotive mechanical engineering environment and a wider multi-disciplined engineering team, either within a tier one supplier or within an automotive OEM.
·Proven track record in an automotive mechanical engineering environment either within a tier one supplier or within an automotive OEM.
Requirements:
1. Industry background:
·Prior experience as mechanical engineer at tier 1 electro-mechanical focused supplier or within an automotive OEM.
2.Knowledge and skills:
·Experience with CATIA V5 in a multi-discipline engineering environment.
3. Education / Training:
·Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
4. Competencies:
·GD&T experience beneficial.
·Experience with electrical, optical, thermal & NVH systems beneficial.
