Banking Administrator (Fixed Term Contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Processing daily BACS receipts and allocating payments to the correct matter files within the case management system.
• Managing and maintaining suspense account balances, proactively investigating and resolving unidentified receipts.
• Processing defendant bills, reversals, corrections and other billing transactions accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Working closely with branch offices, payors and the Costs Team to resolve queries that may delay billing or payment allocation.
• Responding professionally to billing-related enquiries and providing excellent customer service.
• Supporting colleagues across the wider finance function and providing cover during periods of absence when required.
• Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and integrity.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• A strong understanding of Solicitors Accounts Rules and their practical application.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage a high-volume workload.
• Outstanding attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience using automated case management systems.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
• The ability to work independently, use initiative and see tasks through to completion.
