Beertender at Alvarium

Alvarium Beer Co. is looking for a detail-minded Beertender to help create an outstanding guest experience in our taproom. If you take pride in quality and service, love talking about great beer, and notice the little things that make a space feel welcoming, we'd love to meet you. Candidates should be available for at least 2 shifts per week, and 3 is ideal.

What you'll do

• Make every guest feel taken care of. Greet guests warmly, listen to what they're looking for, and give personalized recommendations. Stay focused on their needs from the first hello to the last sip.
• Be an enthusiastic Alvarium ambassador. Learn our beers, styles, brewing process, and ingredients well enough to share your excitement with confidence.
• Champion quality in every pour. Pour a great pint every time, with precision and attention to detail, following responsible service practices.
• Keep the whole space sparkling. Maintain the taproom and surrounding areas, including seating, restrooms, and outdoor spaces, so they are clean, organized, stocked, safe, and inviting.
• Sweat the small stuff. Notice what needs doing before anyone has to ask, whether that's a wiped table, a restocked cooler, or a spotless glass.
• Buzz with the team. Work alongside your fellow beertenders and the brewery crew to keep service smooth and friendly.
• Enjoy the rush. Stay upbeat, professional, and service-focused during busy nights and weekends.

Pay Rate: Beertenders earn $8.23 per hour plus tips for hours worked while the bar is open to customers. Prep and closing duties performed when the bar is not open are paid at $16.94 per hour.

Requirements

We are seeking individuals who are at least 21 years old and have a genuine passion for craft beer and customer service. We are also looking for:

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a service industry role, preferably in a bar/taproom or restaurant environment.
• TIPS certification preferred
• Passion for craft beer is a plus
• Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
• Strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork
• Proficient in basic math and cash handling
• Availability to work weekdays, weekends and special events. (including some holidays). Ability to start as early as 2pm preferred.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves standing for long periods, lifting kegs and cases of beer up to 50 pounds, and working in a lively environment. Beertenders will need to navigate the taproom and outdoor seating areas and be attentive to customers while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
