About this role
The Business Applications & Data Analyst is responsible for supporting, enhancing and optimising the firm's business applications and data solutions. Acting as a key link between technical teams and business users, the role will gather requirements, analyse processes, coordinate testing activities and support the effective use of systems including Aderant Expert and Intapp Open.
The role will focus on delivering business value through application improvements, reporting enhancements and data-driven decision-making while ensuring a high standard of user support and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Business Application Support
- Provide day-to-day support for Aderant Expert, Intapp Open and other business applications.
- Investigate, diagnose and resolve application issues or coordinate resolution with vendors and technical teams.
- Assist with application configuration, upgrades and enhancements.
- Maintain application documentation, procedures and user guides.
Business Analysis
- Engage with stakeholders to gather, document and analyse business requirements.
- Review business processes and identify opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
- Support project delivery through analysis, testing and implementation activities.
Data & Reporting
- Work with stakeholders to define reporting and data requirements.
- Support the creation and validation of reports and dashboards.
- Analyse data to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Assist with maintaining data integrity and quality across business systems.
Testing & Change Management
- Prepare and execute system testing and user acceptance testing activities.
- Coordinate business user testing and feedback.
- Support training delivery and user adoption initiatives.
- Assist with change communications relating to system enhancements and new functionality.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Build effective relationships with business users and external suppliers.
- Act as a trusted point of contact for application-related queries and improvement requests.
- Support the management of application vendors and service providers.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
- Experience within a legal or professional services environment.
- Experience with Aderant Expert and Intapp Open.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Experience producing reports and analysing data.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with SSRS reporting.
- Experience with integration solutions.
- Understanding of project delivery and testing methodologies.
