Business Development Representative - B2B
AI Summary
The Sales Development Representative owns first conversations with mortgage brokerage principals, qualifies inbound and outbound leads by phone, and books qualified discovery meetings for business development managers to close.
About this role
Sales Development Representative – Offshore Growth Services | $80K Base + $120K OTE | Hybrid, Brisbane
Fill the calendars of the people who close. Learn how B2B deals actually get won. Then go and win them yourself.
A Brisbane-headquartered offshore staffing and operations business has placed more than 1,000 professionals in under four years.
It started inside the founder’s own property business. The model was proven there first, then scaled out to hundreds of clients across real estate and financial services.
Now it’s pushing hard into mortgage broking. Brokerages are buried in processing, admin, compliance and lender follow-ups. This business places trained professionals who take that load off, people who already work in the platforms brokers use every day. Brokers get their time back. They write more loans.
It’s premium-priced and still wins competitive deals. It’s sold as a growth partner, not cheap labour. The cycle is short: discovery call, close meeting, signed inside four weeks.
This is a brand-new seat, not a backfill. The 2027 growth targets are big, the broking sales team is expanding, and the closers need full calendars. That’s where you come in.
Why This Role?
$80K base, $120K OTE at target. That’s a top-of-market SDR base, not a $55K base propped up by commission you’ll never see.
Inbound and outbound. Website and CRM enquiries come straight to you, alongside your own outbound. Warm leads from brokers who’ve already put their hand up.
A real path to a closing seat. Perform, and there’s a route into a credit-carrying BDM role. The broking sales team is growing, and that’s where the seats are being created.
Short cycles, fast feedback. Your meetings turn into signed deals within weeks, so you see exactly what a good meeting looks like and learn quickly.
A proven model. Founder-backed, profitable growth, 1,000+ placements, and premium pricing that holds up in competitive deals.
Get in while it’s being built. The B2B sales function is being shaped right now. Good ideas get used here, not buried.
What You’ll Actually Do
Own the first conversation with brokerage principals. Phone-first, backed by email and LinkedIn sequences.
Jump on inbound enquiries within minutes, not hours. Qualify, book or disqualify.
Run sharp qualification calls covering brokerage size, deal volume, where admin is capping growth, current support set-up, who decides and when.
Book qualified discovery meetings into the BDMs’ calendars, with handover notes good enough that they can close in two meetings.
Build and work target lists by aggregator, brokerage size and region.
Keep the CRM clean. Your pipeline is your proof.
Sharpen your game with direct feedback from the BDMs on meeting quality.
This is a phone-first role. Expect plenty of dials and plenty of no’s. That’s the work, and it’s what builds the skills you’ll need in a closing seat.
Who This Suits
You don’t need a finance background. What matters is that you’ve hit numbers on the phone and can prove it.
You’ve got a track record in a high-volume, target-driven role: SDR, outbound, or B2C sales such as gyms, solar, telco or energy. You can tell us your numbers.
You’re genuinely comfortable calling business owners all day.
You can run a tight qualification conversation and hand over cleanly without trying to close it yourself.
You’re coachable. You take feedback on Tuesday and you’re better by Thursday.
Your ambition is aimed at the closing seat, and at building a career inside one business.
You’re Brisbane-based and up for hybrid office days.
Some B2B SDR time, or experience prospecting into brokers or finance professionals, helps. It’s not essential. Hunger and hard numbers matter more.
Why This Is Different
Most SDR roles hand you a list and a low base, and call it a career path. This one pays properly from day one, puts warm inbound in front of you, and sits inside a business that’s growing fast enough to create the closing seats you’re aiming for.
You’ll learn consultative B2B selling with short cycles and a product that earns its premium. And you’ll do it at the point the sales function is being built, which means you’ll be noticed.
If you’ve been smashing numbers somewhere that doesn’t see it, pay attention.
