Job Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data dashboards and reports that support decision-making across Everen Group. Working directly with business stakeholders across Finance, underwriting, claims, and leadership, the analyst translates business requirements into reliable, accurate, and visually clear reporting solutions. The role owns the organization's reporting platforms, primarily Tableau, and is accountable for data quality, platform administration, and ensuring that all reporting meets the standard required for Board, executive, regulatory, and shareholder audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, conduct requirements gathering, and translate business needs into clear specifications and working solutions.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports in Tableau, covering underwriting, claims, financial, Board, executive, and AGM/shareholder reporting.
- Own the Tableau platform environment, including report publishing, testing, data source connections, and ongoing administration.
- Manage data integrations and connections, including Link2 and HubSpot reporting, ensuring data flows are accurate, current, and reliable.
- Investigate and resolve data quality issues, broken connections, stale refreshes, and inconsistencies between systems, and escalate anomalies promptly.
- Develop KPIs, scorecards, and performance metrics; perform ad-hoc analysis to support strategic business initiatives.
- Produce executive-level reporting suitable for Board, regulatory, and shareholder audiences, maintaining high standards of accuracy and presentation.
- Establish and maintain reporting standards, documentation, and best-practice guidelines across the organisation.
- Develop self-service reporting capabilities to enable business teams to access data independently.
- Coordinate closely with the IT Operations Manager to ensure platform responsibilities are clearly delineated and no reporting dependencies fall through the gap.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or dashboard development, preferred background in financial services, insurance, reinsurance.
- Expert-level proficiency in Tableau (required); Power BI proficiency is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience with relational databases, data modelling, and data source integration.
- Strong experience with data governance or data quality frameworks, and Microsoft Excel skills
- Proven ability to gather business requirements directly from non-technical stakeholders and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Experience producing reporting for executive, Board, or regulatory audiences.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience working within small, lean teams where breadth of contribution is expected
- Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline management.
- Meticulous attention to data accuracy, takes ownership of quality, not just delivery.
- Self-directed and delivery-oriented, follows through on commitments and flags issues early.
- Collaborative and approachable, builds trust with business users and technical colleagues alike.
