Business Intelligence expert

Creation and maintenance of Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW) and complex Business Intelligence Solutions (Data Lakes / Data Lakehouses);

•Designing architectures both on the cloud and on premises (whether hosting or cloud on-premises) or combination of both (hybrid);

•Gathering business requirements;

•Designing ETL processes

•Data analysisand data modelling;

•Data virtualization;

•Physical DB design and performance analysis;

•Design of Data Quality and Health Monitoring processes;

•Elaboration of test programs;

•Writing of technical documentation;

•Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system;

•Participation in meetings with other project teams.

Requirements

Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:

• Excellent knowledge of data warehouse design & architecture.

• Good knowledge of data lake/data lakehouse design and architecture.

• Excellent knowledge of relational database systems applied to data warehouse.

• Very good knowledge of cloud-based business intelligence technologies.

• Knowledge of non-relational database technologies.

• Strong expertise in data warehouse and big data (structure and unstructured data).

• Strong expertise with Object Oriented programming, and/or Python would be an asset.

• Expertise with migration of data infrastructure to cloud (AWS, Azure) would be an asset.

• Excellent knowledge of SQL.

• Excellent knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools.

• Excellent knowledge of ETL tools.

• Excellent knowledge of modelling tools.

• Excellent knowledge of online analytical data processing (OLAP) and data mining tools.

Optional certifications:

• Microsoft Data Analyst Associate.

• Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate.

• Amazon Certified Data Analytics Speciality.

• Very good knowledge of cloud solutions for datawarehouse, datalakes and business intelligence
solutions.
• Ability to work efficiently and fast within an environment using SAS DI, SAP BO, Oracle, PL/SQL,
QlikSense, Sinequa, JavaScript, Angular, PHP, Python.
• Ability to give business and technical presentations.
• Ability to apply high quality standards.
• Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in Data and Business Intelligence.
• Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Analysis and problem solving skills.
• Capability to write clear and structured technical documents.
• Ability to participate in technical meetings and good communication skills.
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission,
candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability
and experience in working in team;
