Capacity Sourcing (Operations) Summer Intern

About the role

Axle Logistics of Knoxville, TN, is looking to hire highly motivated individuals for our 2027 Summer Internship Program. As an Operations Intern, you will be responsible for coordinating all processes and functions of shipment planning and freight movement. You will be helping our customers move their inventory in the most cost-effective way by identifying and providing logistics solutions, as well as providing visibility to management and clients in the form of tracking & tracing, auditing, researching, and troubleshooting all operational issues. This is not an Analytics role; this is a role where you will be speaking directly to contracted carriers.

• First-class customer service to clients and carriers
• Ability to multitask within a fast-paced industry
• Capability to prioritize time-sensitive tasks
• Properly execute rate negotiations with partner carriers within the spot market
• Implementation of services
