Job Summary

The primary function of the cash poster is to reconcile all reimbursement provided by health plans and patients, to the drugs and services rendered.

Schedule Details

Location: On-Site, Laguna Hills CA.

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:00PM

Duties and Responsibilities

• Compile and sortdocuments suchas remittance notices, copies of checksand treasury reports.
• Actively update andmaintain cash postingreports.
• Perform NCPDP paymentsfor batch postingon a weeklybasis.
• Utilize external commercial, governmental, and third-party web portalsto gather supportingremittance informationfor payment reconciliation.
• Ensure all paymentsreceived from payersare posted topatient claims/invoiceswith accurate informationsuch as posteddate, date paid, check number, andamount paid.
• Reconcile posted checkswith payments received/deposited.
• Investigate long/unreceivedexpected insurance payments.
• Review EOB statements, post claim denialsand underpayments toaccounts and collaboratewith Billing tofacilitate timely claimfollow-up andbilling/collections resolutions.
• Verify that allEFT deposits andscanned checks havebeen posted ontime.
• Accurately transfer balancesto secondary payers, copay assistance orpatients' accounts.
• Facilitate balance billingby transferring copay/deduct balance andassigning to designatedCollectors.
• Utilize the BillingNotes to documentany follow upor cash postingtransactions with relevanceto Billing & Collectionsprocesses.
• Escalates to managementany unresolved issuesaffecting cash postingand accounts receivableperformance.
• Provides the highestlevel of customerservice in answeringpatient phone callsand swiftly resolvepatients' questions, communicatewith doctors' officesand their staff.
• Identifies and communicatesto the managementteam any incompleteor inaccurate billingrelated datasets resultingin billing errorsand process delaysin a timelymanner.
• Ensures compliance withall payer rulesand regulations.
• Ensure all claimfees are appropriatelyapplied to reconcilepayment within EDI.
• Other duties asassigned.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, andunderstand the Englishlanguage
• Ability to accuratelyreconcile payments oncecash postings arecompleted
• Strong organizational skillsand ability tomanage large amountsof data
• Excellent time management, communication, interpersonal, multi-tasking andprioritization skills
• Ability to workindependently with minimalguidance
• Ability to typewith minimal errors
• Ability to read, comprehend, analyze, andinterpret data
• Ability to workthe hours thatwill ensure allprojects and dutiesare completed ina timely manner.
• Must be ableread and interpretEOB's
• Knowledge of electronicremit notices andauto posting.
• Advanced knowledge ofWord, Excel andOutlook functions.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School diplomaor equivalent
• 2+ years ofcash posting oraccounts receivable experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Medical ReimbursementPosting Experience
• Pharmacy NCPDP PostingExperience
