Casual Early Childhood Educators

The Dryden Native Friendship Centre (DNFC) is seeking dedicated Casual - Early Childhood Educators (ECEs), both qualified and unqualified, for the Homeward Bound Daycare. ECEs will work in a family age group setting with children aged 0–12 years, supporting their emotional, physical, social, and intellectual development. This position reports to the Early Years Supervisor.



POSITION DETAILS:



  • Schedule: Variable hours 8:00am and 5:30pm Monday – Friday
  • Status: Casual
  • Compensation: $23.42 - $31.68 hourly



JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:



  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
  • Plan and lead play-based, child-centered learning activities
  • Supervise children indoors and outdoors
  • Keep records of children's attendance and progress
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Collaborate with team and Resource Consultant
  • Communicate with parents regularly
  • Help organize field trips and special activities
  • Follow all Centre policies and health/safety protocols



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Preferred: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and member of the College of ECEs
  • Considered: High school diploma with relevant experience
  • Required:
    • Valid First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
    • Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
    • Updated immunizations and TB screening
  • Assets:
    • Knowledge of Indigenous culture
    • Indigenous language skills
    • Experience with emergent curriculum
    • Ability to work independently and in a team



WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Classroom and outdoor settings
  • Occasional offsite activities
