Age Specific Responsibility

Summary
Under the direction of the Registered or Licensed Nurse Manager/Designee, the Certified Nursing Assistant/Geriatric Nursing Assistant will provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan.
Essential Job Responsibilities

Supportstheadmission,transfer,anddischargeprocessfortheResident.
AssistElderswithdailylivingfunctionssuchasdentalcare,feeding,bathing,dressing/undressing,nailcare,haircare,andshavingaccordingtoexpressedpreference.
Assistwithlifting,turning,moving,positioning,andtransportingresidentsintoandoutofbeds,chairs,bathtubs,wheelchairs,lifts,etc.
Performrestorativeandrehabilitativeproceduresasinstructed.ProvidedailyRangeofMotionExercises.Recorddataasinstructed.AnswerResidentcallspromptly.
Followestablishedsafetyprecautionsintheperformanceofallduties(i.e.,exposuretobodyfluids,lifting,transferring,useanddisposalofpersonalprotectiveequipment).
Wearand/orusesafetyequipmentandsupplies(e.g.,gaitbelt,mechanicallifts,etc.)whenliftingormovingresidentsinaccordancewithplanofcare.
ReportallchangesintheResident'sconditiontoyoursupervisor/designeeassoonaspractical.
Maintaintheconfidentialityofallresidentcareinformation.Ensurethatallnursingcareisprovidedinprivacy.
EntersinformationanddocumentationaccuratelyinCareTrackerinaccordancewithcompanypolicy,practiceandstandards.
FollowestablishedEndofLifeProcedure.
Attendandparticipateinscheduledtraining,in-servicetraining,mandatoryannualin-servicetrainingandeducationalclassesasrequired/needed.
Reportoccupationalexposurestoblood,bodyfluids,infectiousmaterials,andhazardouschemicalsinaccordancewiththecommunitypoliciesandprocedures.

Essential Job Qualifications
HighSchoolDiplomaorequivalent.
Mustpossessa current, unencumbered, active certification to practice as a Nursing Assistant in the state of Michigan certificate ofcompletionstate approved nurse aide training program.
Minimum of one-year experience within a healthcare setting preferred.
Previousexperienceworkinginlong-termcareorwiththegeriatricpopulationpreferred.
Mustpossesssuperiorcustomerserviceskillsandprofessionalism.
Mustpossessoutstandingverbalandwrittencommunicationskills.
