What You’ll Do
Position Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant will provide physician support services to ensure the clinicoperatessmoothlyinproviding patient care.Theyare responsible foradministrative and clinical tasks, such asmaintainingpatient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination,assistingphysicians with exams, and performing front-desk tasks.Essential responsibilities consist of but are not all inclusive:
Responsibilities
- Phlebotomy/Venipuncture
- IM/PO medication administration as ordered byprovider
- Minor Procedures (Minor Wound Care, Suture and Staple Removal, etc.)
- Assistwith in-room diagnostic testing (X-Ray, US, etc.)
- Vitals
- Update Patient Medical History
- Chief Complaints and recent changes to mental, social, physical health
- Gap Closure (Foot Exam, DRE, etc.)
- Review provider orders withpatient
- Review referrals withpatient
- Review normal/stable labs or diagnostic tests with patient andforwardany concerns toprovider
- Remote Patient Monitoring Support
- Reinforcing understanding and adherence to careplan
- Respond to patient calls/messages sameday
- Collaborate with Medical Assistants, Transitions of Care Team, Chronic Care Team, and other members ofthe multidisciplinary care team for continuity of care
- Other duties assigned by provider
What You’ll Bring
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certification or Registration with CCMA, CMA, RMA, or NCMA
- Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), knowledgeable of medicalterminology
- Previousexperience in specific medical field preferred
