About this role

As a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor at M.I.N.K.S. Youth & Family Services, you play an integral role in the treatment coordination of Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization (PHP) patients within the practice. You will partner with other providers to establish and maintain a therapeutic role in each patient’s substance use treatment plan. CSAC STAFF RESPONSIBLE FOR FACILITATING SUBSTANCE ABUSE GROUPS FOR IOP 2.1 AND PHP 205 PROGRAMS. DAILY DOCUMENTATION FOR GROUPS FACILITATED REQUIRED AS WELL AS ADDTIONAL DOCUMENTATION NEEDED, SUCH AS QUARTERLY REPORTS, ISPs, AND SERVICE REQUEST COTINUATIONS. This individual will complete all relevant paperwork in a timely fashion as required by agency, regulatory bodies, and managed care organizations; this includes but is not limited to intake paperwork, psychosocial assessments, client mental health and substance use disorder treatment history, treatment plans, session notes, discharge and aftercare plans, collaborative forms and assessments, billing forms and insurance authorizations. The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor must be available for group Monday-Friday. THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION.

Job Duties:

  • Performs sustance abuse counseling and education, determines factual history
  • Reommends to supervisor revisions to treatment plan with consideration given to the nature of the severity of the problem, family and job-related pressures or complicatons, individual and family history physical condition, and other pertinent factors.
  • Under direct supervision, provide services to the clients incarcerated in local correctional facilities
  • Provides reassurance and encouragement to clients who make phone or personal contact during crisis or emergency situations
  • Provides information or referral services for individuals, families and other concnered person;
  • Ensures that all entries into records are according to the comapny and DBHDS standards,
  • Undates and completes recored for all clients with whom they have had contact.
