TMH Behavioral Services is seeking a compassionate, skilled Child & Family Therapist to provide therapy services to children ages 5–12 and their families. Position Overview
The Child & Family Therapist provides individual therapy, family therapy, case management, and community support services to children ages 5–12 and their families. This clinician will support children experiencing emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges while collaborating with caregivers, schools, and other members of the child's support system.
Typical caseload: 10–15 clients per week, depending on clinician availability. TMH's strong referral network allows clinicians to build and maintain a consistent caseload with ease.
What You Will Do
- Provide individual and family therapy to children experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop individualized, strengths-based treatment plans
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record
- Provide billable case management services connecting families to community resources
- Provide billable community support services to improve emotional and social functioning
- Collaborate with parents, schools, and other providers involved in the child's care
- Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed treatment approaches — CBT, play therapy, family systems, and more
- Participate in case consultations and team collaboration as appropriate
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulatory guidelines
- Engage in ongoing professional development and clinical training
Qualifications
Licensed Clinicians (Preferred)
- LCSW — Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- LCPC — Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
- LMFT — Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pre-Licensed / QMHP Clinicians (Considered)
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Illinois licensure eligibility required
All Candidates Must Have:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with children in a clinical setting preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Experience with evidence-based practices — CBT, trauma-informed care, play therapy, or family systems approaches
- Bilingual clinicians (Spanish, ASL, or other languages) are strongly encouraged to apply
Compensation
QMHP / Pre-Licensed Clinician
$35 – $40 per billable hour
Licensed Clinician (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT)
$45 – $55 per billable hour
Compensation is based on licensure status and clinical experience. Paid per completed billable session.
As a 1099 independent contractor, you are responsible for your own tax obligations. TMH recommends consulting with a tax professional regarding self-employment income.
