The Civils Groundworker will undertake duties associated with that of a Groundworker, undertaking all aspects involved civils and groundworks, from a variety of services including below ground tank installations, infrastructure upgrades and new builds, drainage works, plant operations, decommissioning, repair works etc. Due to the reactive nature of this business this there will be a requirement to carry out emergency/ reactive jobs, whereby the civils groundworker would be involved in our remediation teams. Amongst various other services and requirements of this service line and business.
Due to the rapid growth and opportunity within this area, these services may grow and evolve to adapt with requirements.
The civils groundworker is required to operate any Company vehicles/equipment for which they are suitably qualified to undertake and adhere to all HSE requirements as per Adler and Allan guidelines.
More about the role:
- Groundworks – drainage, pavement/highway standards construction and earthworks.
- In-situ concrete – shuttering, placement and finishing.
- All aspects of excavation operations.
- Below ground tank installation.
- Assisting with remediation projects on the civils aspects.
- May be required to support emergency response operations and projects.
- Represent themselves and the company to the highest standard.
- Responsibility for ensuring all vehicle checks is undertaken prior to commencing any works. It is the civils groundworker responsibility for ensuring all required equipment is located and stored on the allocated vehicle for the pursuance of works.
- Ensure all uplifting and offloading of product and materials is undertaken in the correct and compliant manner with high regard for health and safety and correct working practices.
- Responsibility for ensuring the security of all Company vehicles and equipment. This includes ensuring all equipment is fit for purpose and used in the correct manner.
- Works to be carried out in accordance with health and safety to include provided RAMS documentation. The civils groundworker is required to use knowledge and experience to contribute to the pursuance of works, meet customer demand, and satisfy works.
- Responsibility for cleaning all plant and equipment post job. The civils groundworker will also be responsible for identifying repair work required. This includes ensuring the depot, yard area and office facility is clean and tidy.
- Liaison with customers on site to discuss on-going works and further services of the Company.
- Completion of all works paperwork and submission in a timely manner to division supervision.
- Liaison with supervision regarding all works and recommending improvements or possible opportunities.
- Any other duties as designated by management for which the civils groundworker is suitably trained and capable of doing.
- Ensure all tooling is in good condition and calibrated in date as required.
- Complete PoWRA (Point of Works Risk Assessment).
- Maintain visitor’s logs.
Qualifications
About you:
- Must possess full UK driving licence.
- Demonstrate and promote thorough understanding of the importance of RAMS documentation and an ability to work safely within the scope of such documentation.
- Willingness to undertake any additional training to increase capability of the division in supplying a service to customers.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written, with internal and external clients.
- Knowledge of all aspects of environmental services related works is desirable.
- Construction and civils knowledge is essential.
- Have experience of leading site teams.
- Be able to work under pressure to ensure works are delivered to time frames.
