- Maintains instruments and equipment and insures they are in good working condition. Practices established preventative maintenance protocols and documents these actions appropriately.
- Keeps accurate records of work performed according to established procedures using designated computer systems in order to document and work productively.
- Compares test results to pre-established criteria in order to determine the reportability of results. Insures results meet preset parameters or criteria.
- Recognizes and communicates unusual test results to the supervisor or manager in order to insure prompt reporting of abnormal or critical values.
- Monitors supplies, materials, and reagents. Reports inventory shortages to technologist or supervisors to insure uninterrupted service.
- Participates in technical projects as directed in order to expand and improve service.
- Demonstrates routine procedures for students and technicians under the supervision of technologists in order to fulfill the department's goals.
- Attends in-service training programs to improve knowledge and skills, and to share experience with staff.
- Complies with all RUMC infection control and safety procedures in order to provide a safe environment for self, staff and patients.
