One Health/Central Montana Health District (CMHD) is looking for a Public Health Nurse (RN) to join our team!


Are you a compassionate and driven Registered Nurse ready to make a difference in rural communities? One Health is seeking a Public Health Nurse to deliver high-quality care, promote wellness, and lead health initiatives across Central Montana. This role blends clinical expertise with community engagement—empowering individuals and families to live healthier lives.


Location: Home base is Lewistown, MT however, this position is part of the Central Montana Health District sector of which serves 5 surrounding counties.
Schedule:Full-time |Flexible Hours|Travel Required

Salary:$34.55-$36.07/hr DOE


Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do:

  • Assesscommunity health trends and risks through targeted evaluations and data analysis.
  • Investigatecommunicable diseases using public health surveillance and contact tracing methods.
  • Administerimmunizations in the office and at community clinics, ensuring proper documentation and patient education.
  • Educateindividuals, families, and groups with tailored health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
  • Collaboratewith local agencies and partners to develop and deliver impactful health programs.
  • Advocatefor vulnerable populations and contribute to health policy development.
  • Respondto public health emergencies and participate in preparedness planning and drills.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nursing degree from an accredited nursing program
  • Current RN license
  • Valid driver’s license

Certifications (Upon hire)

  • BLS Certification
  • National Incident Management System/Incident Command System (NIMS/ICS) 100, 200, and 700a certification within four (4) months of employment

Preferred:

  • BSN
  • 2 years of public health nursing experience
