About this role

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced engineer to take technical and release ownership of high power contactors in the vehicle’s high voltage system. You’ll be the go-to expert for this component across the organization and towards suppliers, responsible for the full product life cycle from requirements to release and beyond.

Due to the critical nature of this role, you’ll be expected to contribute from day one. We’re therefore looking for someone with solid, hands-on experience from similar work.

Your responsibilities

  • Hold full technical and release ownership of high power contactors

  • Write and maintain technical requirements for the component

  • Lead technical discussions with suppliers

  • Lead product releases and updates throughout the product’s life cycle

  • Support projects and departments across the organization on all questions about the component

  • Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders and drive cross-functional communication

  • Support verification and validation, including bench and vehicle testing

Requirements

  • MSc or BSc in Electrical Engineering, Electric Power Engineering or equivalent

  • Min. 5 years of hands-on, hardware-focused experience with high power contactors or similar HV protection and switching components

  • Solid knowledge of DC and AC protection technology, including protection coordination at system level and fault analysis

  • Experience with dynamic and steady-state analysis, such as short circuit currents and system impedance

  • Practical experience with high voltage, high power testing, both bench and vehicle, as well as verification and validation

  • Experience writing technical requirements and working directly with suppliers

  • Fluent in English, spoken and written

  • Valid work permit for Sweden and currently residing in Sweden

  • Able to work on site in Gothenburg

Meritorious

  • Knowledge of fuses, pyro fuses and other HV protection devices for automotive

  • Understanding of the complete vehicle electrical architecture, including battery packs, BMS, charging and electrical loads

  • Experience as a component owner or global component responsible at an OEM

  • Experience with KOLA, SystemWeaver (SE-tool), Jira, Creo and Matlab/Simulink

  • Swedish

Please note before applying

We review every application carefully against the requirements above. Applications that don’t clearly show hands-on experience with high power HV components, protection coordination and testing will not be taken further.

In your application, please briefly describe an HV component you’ve been technically responsible for, and how you handled its protection, testing and supplier work.
