Computer Science Teacher

We are looking for a High School Computer Science Teacher for an international school in Beijing, starting in August 2027 for the 2027/28 academic year

About the school

Located in Beijing’s Haidian District, this international school combines the Chinese national curriculum with US Common Core standards in elementary and middle school, while its high school offers US Common Core, AP, IGCSE and A-Level programmes

Job responsibilities

• Teach computer science to high school students, ensuring an engaging and enriching learning experience
• Develop students’ understanding of programming, algorithms, computational thinking and problem solving through practical activities and projects
• Lead or assist with extracurricular clubs, enrichment programmes, teams, academic classes and study halls, with up to three hours of extracurricular involvement
• Prepare lessons and teaching materials, provide tutoring, design and mark assessments, and write report comments
• Work collaboratively with fellow educators to develop and enhance the school’s curriculum
• Assess and monitor students’ progress, setting clear learning targets to help all learners succeed and improve
• Provide clear and constructive feedback to students, parents and caregivers
• Create a supportive and safe learning environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or a related subject
• Recognised teaching qualification
• At least three years of relevant teaching experience
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
