As a Concrete Finisher with Daniels Construction, you will be working on a variety of jobs during all phases of construction. The role entails a wide range of tasks, from basic to difficult.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
  • Load and unload building materials and equipment.
  • Assist in cutting materials with appropriate tool(s).
  • Support co-workers in lifting materials.
  • Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
  • Maintain equipment and tools, keeping in good condition with all safety guards and features in place when in operation.
  • Assist Foreman with material, equipment, look ahead, and monitor safety of others.
  • Inspect all work to ensure quality and accuracy with levels, rulers, framing squares, and make necessary adjustments.
  • Layout and put work in place with minimal direction during construction.
  • Accurately complete daily work hours in timekeeping system. This includes using appropriate job numbers, work codes, and equipment allocations.

Concrete

  • Assist in puddling concrete.
  • Assist in assembly and disassembly of concrete footings, wall forms, and/or flatwork.
  • Assist in tying rebar.
  • Perform demolition of concrete and clean-up area.
  • Assist in concrete pours.
  • Assist in measuring and cutting rebar.
  • Identify fractions and corners of concrete forms.

Safety

  • Attend and participate in all required safety trainings and toolbox talks.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the Company’s safety program (particularly the use of hardhats, safety glasses, and work boots and encourage all employees to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Identify location of first aid kits, fire extinguisher, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), egress route, and emergency information when reporting to a jobsite.

  • Ability to use hand tools safely.

Qualifications (Including Education and Experience)

  • High School Diploma and/or GED, preferred
  • Reliable Transportation, required
  • Ability to travel between job sites throughout the day, preferred
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Functional Experience (Related Experience), required.
  • Ability to speak and understand English, required.
  • Maintain Basic Hand Tools
