Rinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) is looking for a Construction Inspector to join our team in the Blacksburg, Virginia area. If you enjoy being in the field and want to be part of transportation projects you can actually see taking shape, this could be a great opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Major Projects: Be on the front lines of critical infrastructure projects, helping ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Enforce Standards: Maintain adherence to VDOT standards and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with Experts: Work alongside experienced engineers, contractors, and agency personnel.
  • Solve Real-World Challenges: Adapt to changing field conditions and find practical solutions.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Relevant Experience: 1–5 years of construction inspection experience, including VDOT inspection experience and knowledge of roadway, structure, and bridge construction.
  • Certification Savvy: VDOT certifications in soil and aggregate, asphalt, concrete, intermediate work zone, and more.
  • Strong Work Ethic: A dedication to quality, safety, and timely project completion.
Required Certifications:
  • VDOT Soil and Aggregate Field Compaction
  • VDOT Asphalt Field Level I & II
  • ACI Concrete Field Tech Grade I
  • DEQ Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector
  • Nuclear Gauge Safety Training
  • Intermediate Work Zone Safety Training
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction
