Job Summary:
The Cyber Security Engineer III is responsible for supporting with the development, planning, implementation, and/or oversight of the Cyber Security Program. This position will work collaboratively within the organization and across business lines to establish a Program that includes the Cybersecurity strategic roadmap, policy, practices and standards, a security awareness program, incident response and management, enterprise risk assessments and management, security assessments, and the development and maintenance of supporting business technology architecture/
Essential Functions
- Monitor, analyze, and triage security alerts generated by SIEM tools, ensuring timely identification and escalation of potential threats.
- Conduct proactive threat hunting activities to identify hidden risks and vulnerabilities within the organization's environment.
- Lead and participate in incident response efforts, coordinating with relevant teams to contain, investigate, and remediate security incidents effectively.
- Assist with development and implementation of the cyber security strategy to define state-of-the-art policies and processes that enable Harmonic Fund Services to establish consistent, effective information security practices and minimize risk.
- Assist with determining projects and priorities for all information security issues and establishes business plans to achieve the security vision defined in the Company’s strategic plan.
- Assist with oversight of daily cyber security activities for the entire company to manage risk at an appropriate level, ensure effective response to incidents, and optimize secure data access and utilization.
- Proactively analyze and directly respond to internal and external threats to system security.
- Third party business partners risk assessment and management.
- Works directly with development and infrastructure teams to ensure security standards and protocols are developed and integrated into on-premise, cloud and third-party solutions.
- Assists with monitoring and enhancing controls necessary to achieve and maintain SOC 2, and other compliance requirements.
- Periodically test controls as appropriate.
- Assist with facilitation and provide governance over internal assessments and external audits of compliance programs and ensure findings are properly remediated
- Maintain tools and processes that enable monitoring of security and compliance.
- Assist in the development of key reporting metrics and executive presentations to ensure awareness and support of compliance programs.
- Plan and organize risk remediation activities.
- Manage control frameworks supporting security compliance objectives.
- Collaborate with Audit Services and Internal Controls teams.
- Assist with management of third party security vendors to assist in data security capabilities. Ensure the vendors are performing their roles and meeting their obligations and our expectations in delivering data security services.
- Participation in a 24x7 on‑call rotation
Managerial Responsibilities
- Assist with managing team resource allocation, regular performance reviews, recruiting and training of Associates & Senior Associates
- Conduct performance reviews for direct reports
Other Responsibilities
- Provide support and technical expertise to Harmonic projects and initiatives as required

Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related discipline
- 3+ years of proven experience with increasing responsibilities in information security.
- At least one recognized industry security related qualifications from ISACA, ISC2, GIAC or similar is preferred
- Highly technical information security background with a hands-on leadership style. Strong understanding of common industry control frameworks. Ability to work with other leaders and balance security priorities with other business priorities. Ability to grow leaders on the information security team. Must have prior experience in a security management role.
