[CYMER Korea] Manufacturing Quality Engineer

The Quality team partners across Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality Management, Service, suppliers, and global teams to prevent issues, solve problems with data, and continuously improve products, processes, and systems.

We are looking for a Junior Manufacturing Quality Engineer who wants to grow as a hands-on quality professional in a high-tech manufacturing environment. In this role, you will investigate manufacturing and supplier quality issues, use structured problem solving to identify root causes, support corrective and preventive actions, and help improve quality controls.

This is a strong opportunity for an early-career engineer to build broad experience in manufacturing quality, supplier quality, quality systems, and cross-functional collaboration.

Introduction to the Job

This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to product quality, customer trust, and operational excellence at Cymer Korea Factory.

You will work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to analyze quality data, identify risks, improve procedures and controls, and drive practical improvement actions.

The position is well suited for a quality-minded engineer who enjoys solving problems, learning complex manufacturing processes, and building technical ownership over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor manufacturing quality performance and help identify product, process, material, and supplier-related quality risks.
• Investigate assigned quality issues using data analysis and structured problem-solving methods.

• Support containment, root cause analysis, corrective action planning, and effectiveness verification using applicable quality tools.

• Improve quality procedures, inspection standards, work instructions, control plans, and day-to-day manufacturing quality processes.

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality Management, Service, and suppliers to resolve issues and close actions.

• Support supplier and incoming material quality improvement, audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities.

• Prepare clear quality reports, escalate significant risks promptly, and share lessons learned.

Required Quallifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Applied Physics, or a comparable technical discipline.

• Typically 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing quality, process engineering, product quality, supplier quality, or quality assurance.

• Hands-on experience with manufacturing or supplier quality issues, data analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

• Working knowledge of quality tools and systems such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, QC tools, nonconformance management, and ISO 9001.

• Ability to interpret quality data, manage assigned priorities, and drive actions to verified closure.

• Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, with professional working proficiency in Korean and English.

• Ownership mindset and willingness to escalate risks or request support when issues exceed the assigned scope.

• Demonstrate ownership of assigned quality issues and follow actions through to verified closure.

• Make recommendations based on facts, data, risk, and customer impact.

• Escalate significant risks and barriers clearly and in a timely manner.
• Actively seek technical guidance and feedback when addressing unfamiliar or complex problems.
• Share lessons learned and contribute to standardization across relevant manufacturing areas.
