Job Description:

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Support the design, development, and maintenance of Bronze, Silver, and Gold layer pipelines in Azure Databricks using PySpark and SQL

• Contribute to Kimball-style dimensional models (fact and dimension tables) that serve internal MST teams, including actuarial, underwriting, claims, and reinsurance

• Build data quality checks and validation logic that keep Lakehouse data accurate, timely, and trustworthy

• Contribute to internal automation tooling and Claude skills that speed up recurring data engineering workflows, always with a human-in-the-loop approach

• Document technical work clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Utilize Git and GitHub for version control, code review, and collaborative development under the SCRUM framework

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Computer Science or a related field

• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark

• Familiarity with the Databricks platform

• Familiarity with Kimball-style dimensional modeling

• Hands-on familiarity with Claude Code and the broader Claude ecosystem

• Familiarity with Git and version-controlled development workflows

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into technical solutions

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science or a closely related field

• Databricks certification: Data Engineer Associate or higher

• Research experience, preferably with publications

NICE TO HAVE

• Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)

• Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900)

• Experience with a BI tool

• Exposure to the insurance industry. Not required, as you'll pick up the business side through the data itself

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, specifically SCRUM
