The Data Migration Test Lead role focuses on delivering high-quality data migration outcomes within a large-scale platform uplift program in the general insurance domain, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of very large datasets. The role involves leading a team while driving robust testing and validation strategies across complex data migrations, including hands-on SQL-based data validation, API testing, and ETL verification. It emphasises close collaboration with technical and business stakeholders to validate data flows, identify issues early, and ensure seamless, reliable migration across enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate will drive end-to-end testing activities for large-scale data migration, including defining and executing comprehensive data validation and reconciliation strategies between legacy and target systems. They will lead a QA team while remaining hands-on, identifying and resolving data defects, and ensuring alignment with business rules and governance standards. The role also requires working closely with data engineers, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to support cutover activities and ensure successful migration outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Data Migration Test Lead or Senior Data QA in large-scale transformation programs.
  • Strong experience in platform uplift or system migration, ideally within the general insurance domain.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and handling large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience in API testing (e.g., Postman, REST APIs).
  • Solid understanding of ETL processes, data pipelines, and data models.
  • Experience leading and mentoring QA teams in complex delivery environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data quality, governance, and validation frameworks.
  • Experience with large-volume data testing and performance considerations.
  • Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams effectively.
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
