Data Scientist

About the Role

This is a raw-talent hire at a fast-scaling AI startup in the supply chain and fresh produce space. You will be one of a small cohort of exceptionally sharp people building and shipping data science and ML systems that have real, immediate business impact. The team operates at high intensity, and every week brings new records.

What You'll Do

• Build and ship production ML and data science systems end-to-end, from messy raw data to live outputs.

• Use agentic AI coding tools daily to accelerate your output beyond what a conventional team could produce.

• Work across the full data science lifecycle: modelling, experimentation, deployment, and iteration.

• Operate with high autonomy in a zero-to-one environment, owning problems from first principles through to delivery.

What We're Looking For

• 5 to 10 or more years of engineering or technical experience; a data science title is not required.

• Strong quantitative foundations, for example a quant or maths degree, PhD, or equivalent rigour from a top-tier university.

• Daily hands-on use of agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent; this is a firm requirement.

• Experience as an early hire (roughly employee 1 to 15) at a startup, with a track record of operating in ambiguous, high-stakes environments.

• An engineering or technical background: founding AI engineer, ML engineer, or software engineer backgrounds are all valid.

• The drive and intensity to thrive in an always-on, high-output culture where pace is relentless.

• Based in Berlin or genuinely willing to relocate.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: 70,000 to 110,000 EUR annually. Visa sponsorship and relocation support are available.

Berlin, Germany. Hybrid working arrangement. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to Berlin.
