Database Administrator (Oracle and SQL Server)

Responsibilities may include:

Providing Oracle and SQL Server database design and tuning
Data modeling and design
SQL tuning and monitoring to ensure system performance
Schema creation and management
Define capacity and growth requirements
Participate as part of a global functional DBA team.
Using change management processes to prevent production disruptions and outages
Researching and recommending solutions that best meet business needs and Enterprise operational requirements
Assisting in evaluating new technology to meet business needs.

Basic Requirements:

Five or more years of direct DBA experience
Seven or more years of direct IT experience providing database support or application programming
Ability and willingness to perform tasks outside normal business hours and on weekends
Self-directed and self-motivated to solve problems quickly and creatively
Ability to work effectively with teams and functional leadership across time zones and geography
Ability to work effectively in a team environment to encourage collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a highly available service
Experience in the design and management of database schemas.
Experience with SQL tuning and performance analysis

Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other IT/IS related major
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Expert diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem solving for Oracle and SQL Server
Applications support experience
Proficiency with database design methodologies.
Experience with data warehousing design and development tools and architecture.
