Dayforce Project Manager
AI Summary
Manages Dayforce implementation and optimisation projects end to end, including scoping, planning, governance, client communication and go-live, while handling multiple projects and budgets.
About this role
Team Wheel is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead Dayforce implementations, optimisation projects and change work for our clients. This role is for someone who can own a project end to end: scoping and planning it, running governance, keeping the client and the delivery team aligned, and making sure we go live on time, on budget and with a client who feels looked after.
You will work alongside our Dayforce consultants, our PMO and the client's project team, managing several projects at once across HR, payroll and workforce management. The role is about structure, communication and judgement: knowing when a risk is real, when a scope conversation is needed, and how to keep a project moving when things get messy.
Salary and working arrangement
The salary range for this role is expected to be £45,000 to £60,000 per year, depending on experience.
This role is entirely remote with some travel to client sites and company meet-ups.
Key responsibilities
Plan, run and close Dayforce implementation and optimisation projects, typically managing two to four at a time.
Own the project plan, RAID log, budget tracking, status reporting and steering committee packs.
Run kick-off, weekly client calls, internal stand-ups and governance meetings.
Manage scope, change requests and commercial conversations with clients, working with the Team Wheel leadership team where needed.
Co-ordinate consultants, sub-contractors and Dayforce resources so that work is sequenced properly and dependencies are managed.
Track and report project profitability, time logged and sub-contractor costs.
Keep clients informed, prepared and confident through each phase: discovery, configuration, testing, parallel runs and go-live.
Spot risks and issues early, escalate the right ones, and drive them to resolution.
Support UAT planning, cut-over planning, go-live readiness and hypercare handover to our support team.
Contribute to improving how Team Wheel delivers projects, including templates, tooling and ways of working.
What we are looking for
Proven experience managing HR, payroll or workforce management system implementations, ideally Dayforce. Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle or similar HRIS experience will also be considered.
Solid grasp of implementation methodology: discovery, design, build, test, parallel, go-live and hypercare.
Comfortable managing multiple projects and clients at the same time.
Confident running client-facing meetings and holding a line on scope, timelines and commercial terms, while keeping the relationship warm.
Strong written communication: clear status reports, plans and steering packs.
Organised, calm under pressure and comfortable with ambiguity.
Working knowledge of UK payroll and HR processes is a strong advantage.
Experience with project tooling such as Smartsheet, Rocketlane or similar.
PRINCE2, APM, PMP or equivalent is useful but not essential.
The kind of person who will do well
You will suit this role if you like bringing order to complex delivery, enjoy working closely with clients, and take ownership of outcomes rather than just tracking tasks. We want someone who will challenge, guide and keep everyone honest about where a project really is.
This is a chance to shape how a growing HR technology consultancy delivers its projects, with real influence over tooling, templates and ways of working.
