Deputy Director (Business Registration - Pesticides) | NAFSA

This position is being recruited by Pakistan Single Window (PSW) on behalf of the National Agri-Trade and Food Safety Authority (NAFSA). NAFSA is being established as a strategic national initiative to strengthen Pakistan’s agri-trade ecosystem through enhanced regulatory oversight, facilitation, and modernization of food safety and trade processes. The selected candidate will be part of NAFSA’s foundational team, contributing to the development of systems, processes, and institutional capabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage registration, renewal, suspension, and cancellation of pesticide-related businesses (manufacturers, formulators, repackaging/refilling facilities, importers, distributors, etc.) in accordance with notified requirements.
• Ensure business registration frameworks and SOPs are implemented consistently, transparently, and in line with regulatory timelines.
• Review applications, compliance documentation, and inspection inputs to determine eligibility and conditions for registration decisions.
• Coordinate with inspection units and laboratories to obtain compliance evidence and follow-up actions where required.
• Maintain national registers and databases of registered pesticide businesses and track compliance status and regulatory actions.
• Prepare regulatory reports, compliance summaries, and decision briefs for Director level review.
• Support audits and verification exercises related to pesticide business registration systems.
• Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the reporting officer in support of NAFSA’s mandate.
  

Requirements

Education:

• M.Sc. (Hons.) / MPhil (Minimum eighteen years of education) in Agriculture (Entomology/Plant Protection/Plant Pathology, Weed Science) or equivalent relevant discipline.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in regulatory registration systems, compliance management, or pesticide-related regulation.
• Strong knowledge of documentation requirements, compliance verification, and regulatory decision-making processes.
• Strong communication and reporting skills with high integrity.
