Summary:
This role will support engineering design and development activities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support engineering activities for large-scale product development programs by investigating feasibility, performing design using 3-D modeling software, and conducting layout reviews and 2D drawing creation.
- Analyze and resolve complex problems independently or with minimal guidance.
- Create part specifications and BOMs.
- Negotiate with surrounding component business units and suppliers.
- Perform cost analysis, strength calculations, and material selection.
- Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products and/or processes.
- Identify new ways to increase overall efficiency, utilize up-to-date technology, and reduce design and parts costs.
- Travel to client sites as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2-5 years of relevant industry experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant industry experience, or an Associate’s degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Mechanical Technology, Aerospace, Automotive, Manufacturing.
- Experience with 3-D modeling software tools (CATIA V5 preferred).
- Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
