As a Diesel Mechanic Technician you will repair and maintain a variety of heavy construction equipment and diesel trucks. Ideally, candidates will work year-round. Work will be performed primarily out of the shop, with opportunities for service calls.


Requirements

  • 2-year AAS degree in Diesel Technology or combination of training and experience that provides equivalent skills, knowledge and abilities
  • Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites
  • Valid Driver’s License, preferably Class A CDL
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities
  • Opportunity to travel throughout Minnesota, North and South Dakota


Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes operation of systems and components of heavy equipment and diesel trucks to determine performance using engineering specifications and test equipment
  • Inspects mechanical and electrical systems; diagnoses and repairs systems for heavy equipment and diesel trucks
  • Disassembles systems, examines parts for defects and excessive wear on heavy equipment and diesel trucks
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts, adjusts settings and reassembles according to specifications on all heavy equipment and diesel trucks
  • Operates electronic testing equipment, precision instruments and gauges, hand tools, portable power tools, welding and cutting equipment and cranes and hoists
  • Welds and fabricates parts as needed
  • Complies with Company Safety Program
  • Performs other tasks as needed
