Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Director, Costing will lead the strategic direction of Arc’teryx costing operations, focusing on the development and management of cost structures for raw materials through finished goods for Arc’teryx mainline, business units, and innovation. You will help shape our costing strategy, establishing our costing baseline and intelligence, influencing our organization as we grow and scale. You will be responsible for analyzing cost drivers, implementing costing strategies, and ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining Arc’teryx’s high standards of quality. This role involves collaborating closely with Design, Development, Finance, and within your Global Supply team (Raw Materials, Sourcing, Manufacturing) to develop accurate cost estimates and optimize cost structures across the product portfolio.

You will build and lead a high-performing costing team, establishing the roles, processes, and capabilities required to support scalable supply chain operations. Through strong cross-functional partnerships, you will enable the team to deliver accurate, actionable costing insights that drive informed decision-making across our product portfolios. Under your leadership, costing will evolve into a strategic capability, empowering teams across Arc’teryx to make smarter, faster decisions that support innovation, performance, and growth.

This role is based out of our Hong Kong Sourcing office, and candidates must be eligible to work in Hong Kong. Candidates must be able be able to travel to Canada and our regions from time to time.

Take responsibility and ownership of Arc’teryx global costing strategy and lead the evolution of a comprehensive, long-term strategic vision and strategy that amplifies operational excellence as our organization expands and becomes more complex on a global scale.

Leading the strategic development and execution of Arc’teryx’s Global Costing roadmap, aligned with our product, circularity, and supply chain strategies.

Leading the team responsible for cost structure development, cost analysis and reporting, cost saving strategies, and supplier cost management across our organization.

Leading the build and onboarding of a high performing costing team, establishing clear roles, processes, and capabilities to support scalable supply chain operations.

Coaching, mentoring and inspiring people leaders and costing team members in their responsibility of driving the execution of the costing strategy forward while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Providing key trends, risks and opportunities on the global market and commodity trends to Design, Development, Finance, and Global Supply leadership to delivery cost optimization opportunities, supporting long-term financial planning and profitability targets, while holding our standard of quality is maintained

Influencing strategic decisions across the organization through scenario planning, data analytics, and risk assessments, and coming forward with thoughtful recommendations that demonstrate enterprise knowledge and foresight.

Actively participates in product innovation pipelines – evaluating new materials, sustainable alternatives, and construction techniques through a cost-engineering lens, and co-developing cost-neutral innovation frameworks that allow the business to elevate product without eroding margin.

Partnering with across the globe with leaders and teams at our Hong Kong Sourcing Office, HQ, Design Center, Tokyo Creation Center, Hong Kong office, and other regionally placed roles to bring our costing strategy to life.

Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain.

Evolve costing capabilities toward predictive and scenario-based modelling, enabling proactive decision-making and deeper insights into cost drivers and trade-offs.

Advance the integration of sustainability metrics into costing practices, enabling more holistic decision-making across cost, impact, and performance.

Partner with Amer to define and establish a more universal costing approach across brands, enabling greater consistency, transparency, and comparative insights across the broader organization, while laying the groundwork for future scalability and integration.

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• You have 10+ years of experience in costing, finance, or supply chain leadership roles, with a focus on cost analysis and cost management, and you have strong capability in cost accounting software and financial analysis tools.
• You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives.
• You have a proven record of developing and implementing strategies and hold knowledge to apply change-management best practices.
• You have proven experience building a team and leading them through a full operating lifecycle, with demonstrated success.
• You are driven to improve business processes and are skilled at implementing new ways of working to support teams in achieving their goals and metrics.
• You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of driving cost efficiency.
