The Director of Finance and Operations will serve at the frontline of transparency and integrity by which Akola strives to operate. The position’s key responsibilities focus on leveraging financial resources and operational practices to achieve the organization's vision. He or she will require a strong connection with Akola’s mission and a willingness to evaluate and identify opportunities of optimization and ensure the financial structure of the organization supports Akola’s mission.


Responsibilities:

Finance

- International banking

- Resource strategy for each component of Akola business

- Financial marketing

- Profit margin management

- Budgeting

- Evaluate revenue reports from Director of Sales and Director of Development

- Manage Bookkeeper and oversee their day-to-day accounting and financial reporting

- Oversee accounting systems and inventory management

- Controller for US + Uganda offices

Supply Chain

- Production forecasting

- Material forecasting between Uganda + US based on production schedules

- Oversee vendor relations

Qualifications

Demonstrated excellence with budget preparation and analysis, financial marketing and the proven ability to translate technical financial data into informative reports

Superlative communication skills, both spoken and written

3-5 years in financial analyst or related role and/or cost accounting experience in global operating environment

Experience working in developing countries is a plus

Bachelor’s degree in finance or business-related field, MBA preferred
