Director of TQP Grant, Professor of the Practice, Non-tenure track

The Stout School of Education at High Point University invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, faculty position to serve as Director of the Teacher Quality Partnership Grant. The position is federally grant funded for five years beginning October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2031.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Licensure

• Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Education Leadership or related field
• Candidates must hold current licensure as a teacher and principal (superintendent licensure is preferred but not required)

Experience and Training

• Candidates must have a minimum of five years of successful experience as a teacher
• Candidates must have a minimum of five years of successful experience as a principal and/or central office leader
• Candidates who have experience leading programs or projects with quantifiable impacts are preferred
• Candidates who have experience leading federal grant programs are preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• Online Learning Management Systems (BlackBoard, Canvas, Moodle)
• Virtual Meeting Tools (Zoom, WebEx, Google Meet)
• Learning Technologies for Engaged Online Learning

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This position reports to the Dean of the Stout School of Education. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Growing strong relationships between the university and school district partners;
• Providing independent leadership of programs of study that lead to teacher and principal licensure;
• Recruiting, screening, and admitting aspiring teachers and principals into HPU;
• Hiring and supervising Executive Coaches who will provide on-site and virtual support to program participants;
• Hiring and supervising a grant Program Coordinator who will provide logistical and program evaluation support throughout the grant;
• Identifying consulting partners to deliver special topics seminars, institutes, experiential learning, and ancillary learning experiences to complement traditional coursework;
• Monitoring student success and progress throughout the program of study;
• Marketing, promoting, and recruiting for teacher and principal degree and licensure programs such that activities are sustainable after the grant funding expires;
• Working with an external evaluator to collect, analyze, and report out on Attending federal grant meetings as needed.
