Rixos Baghdad is seeking an experienced and people-focused Director, People & Culture to lead our human resources strategy and foster a culture of excellence, engagement, and inclusivity. The Director will be responsible for the overall leadership of People & Culture operations, ensuring alignment with business goals, compliance with policies and labor laws, and the creation of a supportive, dynamic work environment that empowers our team members to thrive.

  1. Key Responsibilities:

Strategic People & Culture Leadership: Develop and implement People & Culture strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and values. Drive initiatives that promote employee engagement, talent development, and organizational success.

Talent Acquisition: Oversee recruitment and onboarding processes to attract, hire, and retain top talent. Ensure a smooth and engaging candidate and onboarding experience.

Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and team members. Address employee concerns, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive work environment through proactive communication and support.

Learning & Development: Lead learning and development programs that support professional growth, leadership development, and succession planning. Foster a continuous learning culture.

Performance Management: Implement and oversee performance appraisal systems. Support managers in setting goals, providing feedback, and developing action plans for employee development.

Compensation & Benefits: Manage compensation and benefits strategies that are competitive, compliant, and aligned with employee needs. Conduct regular reviews to ensure fairness and market competitiveness.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and best practices. Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments.

• P&C Data & Reporting: Oversee HRIS and ensure accurate data management. Analyze P&C metrics to inform strategic decisions and prepare regular reports for executive leadership.

Culture & Engagement: Champion initiatives that promote a strong organizational culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Lead employee engagement activities and wellness programs.

Health & Safety: Partner with relevant departments to ensure safe working conditions and the implementation of health and safety policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or HR certifications (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, CHRP) are an asset.

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in the hospitality or service industry.

• In-depth knowledge of P&C best practices, labor laws, and regulatory requirements.

• Proven leadership and people management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for people and service excellence.

• High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling confidential information.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.

• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and drive results.
