Discipline Lead Ports and Geotech

The role
We are looking for an ambitious Discipline Lead to our Ports and Geo Team to join our office in Høje Taastrup in Denmark. At WSP Denmark, we work on exciting and complex port and marine projects. As part of our growth ambitions, we are looking to strengthen our Ports and Geotechnical business with a dedicated leader. We are seeking an experienced Ports engineer with a strong background in the design and delivery of port and marine projects to strengthen our team. You will play a central leadership role in business development, project delivery, project management, and client acquisition within a dynamic consulting environment.

Your team
You will lead WSP Denmark's Ports and Geotechnics team, currently comprising approximately 10 highly skilled engineers and specialists working across port infrastructure, marine engineering, coastal and geotechnical disciplines. The team delivers projects ranging from feasibility studies and concept development to detailed design and construction support for some of Denmark's most important infrastructure assets. Based on the original team setup within the Transport & Infrastructure division.
As Discipline Lead of Ports and Geotech, you will have overall responsibility for the team's performance, development, and growth. A key objective of the role is to expand the team's capabilities and market presence in line with WSP's strategic ambitions, creating leading Ports and Geotechnics practices.

Working closely with colleagues across Transport & Infrastructure, Environment, Water, Energy, and WSP's global Ports, Marine and Geotechnical networks, you will ensure that our clients have access to the best expertise from across the business while providing attractive career opportunities for our people.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading business development and client engagement activities within Ports and Geotechnics

• Driving bid management and proposal development for new projects and framework agreements

• Building and leading the Ports and Geotechnical team, including recruitment and talent development

• Providing technical leadership in the planning and design of port and marine projects

• Managing projects with responsibility for schedule, budget, resources, and quality

• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across disciplines and geographies

• Ensuring compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and client requirements

• Contributing to the strategic growth and market positioning of WSP's Ports and Geotechnics business

Your Skills and Qualifications
Your background may vary, but it is essential that you have a proven track record of leading complex bids, developing client relationships, and driving business growth. You are curious, commercially minded, possess strong industry insight, excellent communication skills, and have a passion for strategic development.
You must be fluent in Danish and able to prepare high-quality proposals and technical documentation. You should also expect that part of our business development and proposal work will be carried out in English.

Required qualifications:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, preferably with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Port Engineering

• Extensive experience within consulting engineering, focused on marine and port projects

• Proven leadership experience, including project and people management

• Demonstrated success in business development, client acquisition, and proposal management

• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills

• Ability to maintain structure and oversight in complex projects and business environments
