Overview

The Sacramento, CA office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw100 firm, is seeking a docket clerk with legal experience. The primary responsibilities of this position include receiving, reviewing, and docketing all documents requiring calendaring and maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date electronic calendars for attorneys and legal teams. The position ensures the accurate calculation and entry of deadlines related to litigation matters, including discovery, pre-trial activities, motions, hearings, depositions, trials, and appeals. Depending on the needs of specific practice groups, calendaring responsibilities may be expanded to include additional matter-specific deadlines and events.

Responsibilities

Job Specifications/Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year prior law firm docketing, calendaring, legal assistant, or related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Court rules and deadline calculations strongly preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with docketing and calendaring systems such as eDockets, ProLaw, CompuLaw, CourtAlert, or similar systems preferred.
  • Milana experience a plus.
  • eDockets experience preferred but not required.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn new systems and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet competing deadlines.
