Documentation Team Lead – Medical Technology

Are you an experienced technical writer who combines excellent content skills with strong leadership and project management abilities? In this role, you will lead a small team responsible for developing high-quality end-user documentation for innovative medical devices used by healthcare professionals worldwide.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a small team of technical writers
• Oversee the complete development and translation process for end-user documentation
• Transform engineering specifications, clinical input, and product information into clear and structured content
• Plan and manage multiple documentation projects, schedules, and deliverables
• Review and edit content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Clinical, Regulatory, Product Management, and other stakeholders
• Ensure documentation is delivered on time and meets internal quality and regulatory requirements
• Continuously improve documentation processes, templates, and standards

Your Profile

• Proven experience in writing and editing technical documentation for end users
• Previous leadership, team coordination, or project management experience
• Ability to understand complex software, hardware, and engineering specifications
• Excellent writing, editing, and information-structuring skills
• Native-level English with the ability to write in US English
• German language skills or willingness to learn German
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Confident communicator with a collaborative and solution-oriented working style
• Experience with XML-based content management systems, ideally ST4
• Knowledge of FrameMaker, InDesign, and Adobe Acrobat
• Background in medical technology, life sciences, engineering, or another high-tech environment is an advantage
• Graphic or information-visualization skills are a plus
