ABOUT BINGHAM ACADEMY:

Founded in 1947, Bingham Academy is a Christian international school in Addis Ababa serving students from Ethiopia, missionary and international families. The school provides quality Christian education within a diverse, multicultural community and equips students of integrity to influence the world for God's glory.

YOUR ROLE AND IMPACT:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide Christ-centered instructional leadership that promotes academic, organizational, curricular, and instructional excellence
• Coach, mentor, and support teachers through classroom observation, feedback, professional development and collaborative planning
• Ensure curriculum, instruction, and assessment are aligned with the school's mission, strategic plan, standards, and educational goals
• Oversee the development of appropriate curriculum programs (varied, current, challenging) using best ptactice teaching methods including the use of the Cambridge Curriculum
• Cultivate a positive, relational, and culturally responsive learning environment for students and staff
  
• Partner with parents, teachers, administrators, and the wider school community to support student success
  
• Lead and contribute to school improvement, accreditation, and strategic initiatives
• Support effective student behaviour, holistic development, and safeguarding practices
• Model servant leadership, flexibility, cultural intelligence, and a commitment to Christina education in an international, multicultural environment
• Strong knowledge of current educational trends, best practices, curriculum development and assessment theory
• Create a safe, inclusive and supportive school environment and manage it in a consistent, restorative and Christ-like manner
• Create an environment that reflects, develops, and faciliates the mentoring and spirtual growth of staff, students and their families, while ensuring a biblical, Christ-centered perspective in integrated into all aspects of the Secondary School
• Integrate a Christian philosophy of education and model Christlikeness in relationships with other school leaders, student, parents and staff members
• Demonstrate resilience, emotional maturity, and cultural sensitivity
• Willingness to continue to learn and grow professional
• Serve as a member of Bingham's Senior Leadership Team

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Studies; a concentration in Administration, Leadership or Management
• Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, Education or related field (desired, but negotiable)
• Teaching Certification/License
• ACSI leadership certification or willingness to attain while in the role
• Classroom and leadership experience preferred
• Proven experience in educational leadership
• Demonstrate strong instructional leadership, relational skills, cultural adaptability, and a commitment to quality Christian education
