Job Description:
• Thorough understanding of VHDL, the FPGA design process, and the tools used to generate FPGA designs
• Strong hardware and firmware debugging skills
• Proficient with the use of the following types of lab test equipment: Signal Generators, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Signal Analyzers, Noise Generators, Digital Oscilloscopes, Embedded FPGA Debugging tools
• Proficient with MS Windows and LINUX operating systems
• Proficient with the Xilinx Vivado Tool Suite (Synthesis, Place and Route, Simulation, Timing Analysis)
• Strong computer skills and proficient with the use of the following software applications: MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, Subversion (revision control software), JIRA (issue tracking tool), Matlab
• Self-motivated with the ability to work and communicate effectively within a team environment and negotiate solutions with Hardware / Software Engineering and Systems Engineering
• Experience with the design and debug of communications systems (radio transmitters and receivers) is desired
Day-Day activities:
• Support the Air Applications IPT.
• Perform testing of hardware/software in designated lab.
• Trouble-shoot/debug hardware and firmware and implement fixes.
• Day-day communication with the Air Applications IPT.
• Design FPGAs.
• Implement MATLAB to automate ABR testing through the control of the Signal Generators, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Signal Analyzers, Noise Generators and the DUT
Qualifications:
• Thorough understanding of VHDL, the FPGA design process, and the tools used to generate FPGA designs
• Strong hardware and firmware debugging skills
• Proficient with the use of the following types of lab test equipment:
o Signal Generators, Logic Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Signal Analyzers, Noise Generators, Digital Oscilloscopes, Embedded FPGA Debugging tools
• Proficient with MS Windows and LINUX operating systems
