Electrical Engineer

Job Description Summary:

Design & Technical Review

• Review electrical designs, load calculations, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, shop drawings, technical submittals, and method statements.

• Review and validate electrical equipment selections, technical material submittals, finishes, and execution of all electrical components.

• Provide technical recommendations to improve functionality, constructability, maintainability, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

• Support design reviews and multidisciplinary BIM coordination.

Site Supervision & Construction Monitoring

• Review and supervise electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.

• Monitor construction activities to ensure proper installation and integration of electrical systems.

• Supervise power distribution systems, transformers, generators, UPS systems, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, and low-current systems.

• Coordinate closely with civil, architectural, mechanical, process, and automation disciplines to ensure proper system integration.

Inspection, Testing & Quality Control

• Track, review, and approve the full inspection cycle: vendor, subcontractor, material, and testing-laboratory approval; verification of materials on delivery; stage-by-stage inspection and acceptance of works; testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and final handover; and support for quantity verification, progress measurement, and payment certification.

• Participate in inspections, testing, commissioning activities, factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and final handover procedures.

• Ensure all electrical installations comply with project quality requirements and safety standards.

Coordination & Procurement Support

• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and site supervisors on all electrical engineering matters.

• Support procurement activities through technical evaluation of suppliers, equipment, and subcontractors.

Reporting & Risk Management

• Monitor project progress related to electrical activities and identify potential risks, delays, and technical issues requiring corrective action.

• Prepare technical reports, site observations, punch lists, progress updates, and recommendations for project management and clients.

HSE Compliance

Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and site regulations.
