He aha te tūranga - About the role: 

We are looking for Casual Emergency Medical Assistants and Emergency Medical Technicians to join us on an as and when required basis to service Waikato, Hauraki and Coromandel Areas across the Waikato District.

We are looking for individuals who are adaptable and can settle into our team with ease, work alongside both paid and volunteer staff and provide a high level of care to our patients. The ideal applicants would have a positive demeanour, willingness to contribute to station portfolios, and champion clinical excellence.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe - About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A current St John Authority to Practice at First Responder or EMT
• Excellent operational and clinical performance to date
• Excellent driving record
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus
• A genuine commitment to the well-being of others
• The ability to work under pressure
• Evidence of CCE
• New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency or work visa
• Demonstrated behaviours that align with Hato Hone St John's core values - Do the right thing (Mahi Tika), Side by Side (Tū Tahi), Straight Up (Mahi Pono), Make it better (Whakapai Ake), Open Minds (Whakaaro Nui)

Travel distance to Waikato will be taken into consideration for progression. If you do not live locally please ensure you are able to commit to the travel requirements of completing casual shifts for Waikato.
