Engineer - Reliability Test Power Electronics

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities·

• Develop reliability validation plans for converters, inverters, power supplies, controllers, switchgear, capacitors, transformers, sensors and related electrical equipment.
• Design and execute HALT, HASS, ALT, power cycling, thermal cycling, vibration, humidity and environmental testing.
• Lead root cause investigations using 8D, DMAIC, FTA, Weibull analysis and DOE.
• Drive design improvements for semiconductors, capacitors, magnetics, relays, sensors, PCBs and control electronics.
• Develop lifetime prediction models using Arrhenius, Coffin-Manson and Physics of Failure approaches.
• Support supplier qualification and reliability improvement activities.
• Conduct reliability prediction, component stress analysis, and derating assessments to identify wear-out risks and improve long-term product robustness.
• Analyze field reliability data, warranty returns, and service reports to identify reliability improvement opportunities and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain reliability metrics including MTBF, failure rate, availability, and reliability growth tracking.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electronics Engineering or Reliability Engineering.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in reliability engineering, validation, testing, or product qualification.
• Strong knowledge of power electronics, semiconductor reliability, thermal management and failure mechanisms.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, JMP, Minitab or ReliaSoft.
• Experience in renewable energy, grid infrastructure, energy storage, UPS, traction or industrial automation.
• Knowledge of IEC, UL, IEEE, JEDEC and MIL reliability standards.
• Experience with electrolyzers, hydrogen systems, renewable energy systems or grid-connected power converters.
