The ideal candidate will have experience with Java, Angular and AWS.
This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio office 2 days per week on Mondays & Tuesdays.
This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.

In this capacity, you’ll code, configure, test, debug, document, and maintain applications.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, test, debug, document, and deploy software according to engineering standards and best practices.
Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities.
Use DevSecOps practices, tooling, and techniques.
Demonstrate continuous improvement and learning.
Review and process project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems or other related degrees are preferred. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience: Early career opportunity with one or more years of technology experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Good problem-solving skills. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
Other criteria, such as competencies and experiences, may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the Director and HR Officer.

Working Conditions: Hybrid to normal office environment. Associates may have on-call responsibility after normal working hours and/or on weekends.
