Enrichment Activities Teacher
Train of Thought is an enrichment program that teaches children the rules, discipline, strategy and etiquette of chess. Our mission is to improve academic performance and instill a better attitude toward learning by bringing the social and educational value of chess to communities, leading to improved test scores and reduced retention and dropout rates. Train of Thought is one of very few formal programs that uses chess instruction as a means to develop positive values and provide youth with a positive, growth-enhancing, and academically enriching experience. Our company serves thousands of children at 60+ schools in the Los Angeles area.

We are looking for chess teachers who have the ability to use chess to motivate, educate and help children discover their potential for greatness. We look for teachers with teaching experience and a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of children.
Qualifications
Our ideal CANDIDATE will have:
- Classroom experience as a teacher, student aide, teachers aide, or paraprofessional
- Strong classroom management skills
- Experience working with kindergarten and first grade is a plus
- Ability to learn our proven methods of teaching chess
- Previous chess experience is NOT REQUIRED
- The ability to help students learn, understand and love the game of chess
- Strong desire to raise the achievement levels of traditionally under-served students
- An incredible work ethic and a passion for being part of a team
- Bachelor's Degree (PREFERRED)
- Background Check and TB Test (REQUIRED)
Additional Information
COMPENSATION
Up to $15-$25/hr.
